Doctor Who: The Ruby's Curse: River Song Novel Customer Reviews
:- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Olivia B -- Thank you Alex for the wonderful read! : I finished this book in one go; just decided not to sleep… oops… I found this book to be very entertaining and I really enjoyed getting the introspective viewpoint and narration from Alex Kingston herself. I really loved that we got a lot more, in my opinion, valuable knowledge about River and how her brain works versus the previous Melody Malone book and The Legend of River Song short story collective work, written by various authors, that gave quite a lot of focus on River’s thoughts regarding her physical appearance and how that works into what is going on rather than how River’s highly-intellectual, mental capacities play into things as Alex has done while still, reasonably, alluding to River’s unequivocal confidence in her looks as well as her penchant for being quite naughty at times. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from Alicia Stample -- Charming and Fun : Being a fan of Doctor Who, this was a pleasant addition to the universe. ( Reviewed in the United States on July 31, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Sherry A. Gaines -- More, please, Alex! : The dialogue/monologue is a little overdone in places, and I probably wouldn't have enjoyed it so much if I wasn't a Whovian. But as a die-hard River Song fan, I loved it. Couldn't put it down. ( Reviewed in the United States on June 15, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Douglas Neman -- Amazing and brilliant : Amazing and brilliant. Nice time travel hijinks, and a great literary device. A cat is also involved. I do recommend. ( Reviewed in the United States on September 22, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Stacey Hacker -- Fun exciting Read! : I totally enjoyed reading this book. Alex Kingston knows this character so well, that I could see and hear her as River and Melody. I laughed. I was entertained completely. I cannot wait for the next one. ( Reviewed in the United States on September 1, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Amazon Customer -- River Song at her finest - thanks Alex. : This book is an enjoyable read that I would recommend to anyone who has ever even heard of River Song. ( Reviewed in the United States on August 24, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Erica the Red -- Perfect : This book is everything I had hoped for and more! It really felt like River. I love everything about it. ( Reviewed in the United States on September 18, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Bryan -- Read it : Alex surprises! ( Reviewed in the United States on May 23, 2021 )
- 3.0 out of 5 stars from MrHungry -- Starts well and then loses its way. : I will admit to being slightly disappointed but I would be hard pressed to articulate why as I was hooked for the first 100 pages or so. I think that the problem was that River Song’s alter-ego Melody Malone started to take too much prominence and pushed River into the background (and she is one of my favourite characters from new Doctor Who). - 5.0 out of 5 stars from Alaran -- Enjoyable and imaginative idea : The last couple of years have seen Doctor Who books penned by the Doctor himself (Tom Baker) as well as one of his/her companions (Sophie Aldred). Now it is the turn of the Doctor’s wife. ( Reviewed in the United Kingdom on June 18, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from NK -- Beautiful book, Great read! Props to Alex Kingston for some really great writing : I'm loving this book! It's a great addition to the vast array of Doctor Who Media out there. More River Song is exactly what we needed. Aesthetically, the cover is gorgeously designed. It feels practically luxurious to the touch. ( Reviewed in the United Kingdom on May 24, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from ClanBailey59 -- Cracking read : It is written with style and intrigue that would rival a good Steven Moffat episode of Dr Who! A few twists and turns in the plot line, but if you are an avid River Song admirer this is to be expected. When you read this do it with River Song / Alex Kingston's Voice and let your imagination run free!! ( Reviewed in the United Kingdom on June 9, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Kindle Customer -- Brilliant : It was a brilliant read and also felt like it was written by river song: Alex really understands her character. It was very clever how it is split between melody Malones world and river songs. I would love more books like this!! ( Reviewed in the United Kingdom on May 24, 2021 )
